If you restore plex from a backup or move plex to a new box, any Smart Collection, previously created, looks empty on the restored or moved plex until you do a edit filter → Update Collection for every collection
Is there another way to accomplish this without having to go into each collection?
Do you have specific steps? I just tried on my Windows setup and it worked fine.
My Smart Collections are still there with all content shown like before.
Only real difference, is the Preferences.xml
In the cases I’ve done it, after the restore or move, the Preferences.xml file is removed before stating plex up again with a different plex account
I fixed it
I used an external tool that used the plex api to initiate an UPDATE COLLECTION for each one so I wouldn’t have to do it one at a time
Not sure how the preferences file would impact this, but glad to hear you found a solution.
