I read a lot of stuff and did not find a way.
Windows 10 to Samsung Smart Hub TV.
Everything can be played, but if a play 4k UHD mkv File, it start to buffer. Their is not Network Problem. Network is over cable and Gig Network.
As i saw, their are many people with 4k Problems and Buffer.
Have anyone any idea to solve this ?
4K playback is possible.
The art is to ensure your playback device can take it without transcoding… 4K transcoding is much more demanding than transcoding e.g. 1080p content.
You can check https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/status/playing and hover over the movie icon while it’s playing to see what makes it transcode. If you want more detailed information, you’ll need to look into the logs (Settings > Server > Help > Download Logs
) – there’s lines with a MDE:
prefix which contain details on why Plex is transcoding a stream.
also… even with a gigabit network, there can be bottlenecks.
i play without transcoding. Direct Play. I will take a look to the logs.
The network port on the TV is 10/100 and will be the bottleneck. Try switching to wireless and make sure your TV is close to the router. This fixed 4K buffering issues for me with my Samsung KS7000 TV. My Plex server is cabled into the router with cat6 and is 1Gbps.
If you have a PGS subtitle in the 4K mkv it will always transcode and choke every playable pathway known to man, for now. The solution is to use srt only.
