So confused by sonos+PLEX

I’m new to Plex, just got PMS setup on my Synology and want to stream to Sonos speakers. Is this possible without Pass?

I’ve read the various articles on Plex and Sonos, but they seem contradictory. Sonos says all Plex users can stream music. This post](https://en.community.sonos.com/music-services-and-sources-228994/plex-on-sonos-6787695) seems to say Pass is required. But this support article actually says a Pass is required to stream to Sonos from the Plex app. I don’t care about that!

I have Plex added to Sonos, but only see Plex podcasts (not my content or music).

You can cast to Sonos without a Plex Pass through the Sonos app itself.

A Plex Pass is needed to cast from a Plex client.

Your server needs to be set up for remote access. That is the only way Plex can communicate with the Sonos service. https://support.plex.tv/articles/218237558-requirements-for-using-plex-for-sonos/#toc-2

I thought Remote Access was part of Pass subscription…

Remote access is free and always has been

Ok. .

The Sonos app works pretty well, I use the S1 version, but I find the search function poor. It’s not as fuzzy as the Plex searching, and you almost need to know exactly what you are looking for!
