So what is going on with Subtitles and Plex? Are they no longer supported for automatic download? Do you have to manually add them? Is opensubtitles.org shutdown for good?

Automatic download only works when using the old, deprecated metadata agents.
When using the new agents, only the subtitle search on a single episode or movie is available.
That also does not work as opensubtitles.org that plex uses is not available.
Depending on whether that is permanent or not, you may have to fetch your subtitles manually from somewhere else, I’m afraid.
Can someone from Plex comment on if they are working on a fix for this issue for a near future release update? I am sure that a lot of Plex users would like to have an answer to this question about the future of Plex and subtitles.
OpenSubtitles has been up/down the whole day today.
If you want automatic subtitles, I recommend you using Bazarr
