Hi there, I’ve gone through the help guides for adding Opensubtitles.org for subtitles for my media, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. The only way that I’ve been able to get subtitles to work is to manually add them to an episode and this is very time consuming and not very user friendly. I have a few hundred episodes that are in Japanese that I need to add English subtitles to. The subtitles are on the website, but not being “added” to the episodes for some reason. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I think that’s the only way to do it with the new Agent, manually. Automatic download of subtitles is not supported anymore. You have to play the episode, go to subtitles and do a search. Every time for every episode.
It seems Plex never understood that Subtitles support is very important for plenty of users.
I personally gave up on that and installed Bazarr, the only problem is that you need Sonarr as well.
Firstly, I love plex, it is amazing, keep on working towards perfection…
I second the feelings in this (and many other) threads, having the subtitles set to automatic download was a blessing, especially when there are family members asleep and having the volume up might wake folks. There are also those of us who can’t hear well anyway, so subtitles always there makes it less of an issue.
I am extremely glad that subtitle support is available though, it would just be very very welcome for an “always on” option.
