Plex pass member.
I have been enjoying pms for the past six months using three different servers performing different functions. One of which is a Shield TV as my main server. It has been working flawlessly until today when I had to do a factory reset on the device because i’ll be directly attaching a big capacity NAS via usb and I wanted to start on a clean slate.
After factory reset I begun reinstalling apps one by one first of which is PMS. I saw that it was already installed even after a factory reset and just did an update because there was one.
Now when I went to re-activate the LiveTV dvr feature using a WinTv Dual HD stick i cannot find the Live TV DVR feature. I checked the other 2 servers and both have it.
I’m running version Version 1.4.3.3433 on the Shield TV.
I also tried uninstalling the app from the shield tv but it only allows me to stop and disable it. No option of “uninstall” like regular app. Perhaps plex is now a default shield app?
Also tried uninstalling via google play on the device and on the web. No dice. And also repeated factory reset.
Latest official release on Shield is 1.8.1.4139. Try to update. If the update is not available in the Google play app, go on google play in a web browser. You shoud be to push the lastest update from there on your Shield.
Finally found it: in the process of factory resetting the device i decided to change into a new google account associated with it. Apparently this broke something. After only repeated trial and error when I realized I changed the associated google account.
