Some live TV channels not working

Server Version#: 1.14.0.5470
Player Version#:

I’m using Plex on my Synology DS218+, live TV thru HDHomeRun Prime and some random channels aren’t working when I try to stream. I get an error that says “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna. Code: -1”

I haven’t tried every channel but for example: CNN, TNT, FX, Comedy Central do not work.

I think the issue is with my Synology because I have another server (my PC) on my network from before I bought a NAS and these channels run fine. Any suggestions?

Edit: can anyone please confirm if this issue lies with the lastest version(s)? I downgraded to version 1.14.0.5468-5a0183d2c and this did not resolve the issue. However, I then tried version 1.13.9.5456-ecd600442 and all of my channels appear to be working. I’ll stick with this until a new release or if someone can provide a fix.

Thanks!

Yes the Synology uses the same code but if you are comparing Linux (Synology) to Mac or Windows, there are differences.

Given some channels work while others don’t, this tells me the fundamental access to the tuner is working and not the Synology itself. It is a PMS DVR/LiveTV core issue.

Do they not work ALL the time? For me there is an issue where usually all channels work, then one (or two) stop working (for no reason) with the error you are showing here, then I restart PMS (I am running on Windows) and it all works again. Very frustrating…

Are you sure the issue lies with Plex if I can get these channels to work while running on my PC’s server rather than with the Synology server? Do you know if there’s a fix? My PC is windows btw

I just noticed tonight but today these channels haven’t worked at all and I did reboot Plex on my NAS by stopping/running in the Synology package center (is there a better way to reboot?). I’ve only had my server up for a couple months but I am fairly confident I accessed at least one of the problem channels in the past without issue.

SYnology (Linux) rarely needs a reboot but if you’ve updated DSM , then you should reboot. DSM updates core OS files

Otherwise, stopping in Package Center is the correct way.
