About 03. July 2021 i lost connection to my tuners.
I was on holyday and would like to see life TV-channel om my PLEX.
First time I worked fine, and the next and the third time (That is the numbers of tuners). After that I had no connection with plex.
When I got home, I started trying to fix it.
At first, I got the message. ‘Playback Error – Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna’ . So I did and there was full signal and the tuners worked. (I testet the TV-butler USB tuners on a friends Synology Nas)
Before that i have updated to ver.: PlexMediaServer-1.23.4.4805-186bae04e-x86_64_DSM6
Plex Is not able to see the 3 TV-butler tuners. It just says: ‘We couldn’t find any hardware we recognize, but will continue to look for available devices.’
I thought that my tuners might be the problem so I bought a new Plex certified Hauppauge Win-TV-DualHD tuner but that didn’t work either. It wats not visible either.
So I tried to uninstall PLEX server on my Synology 716II+ NAS. This version is 1.18.5.2309
That helped, now I could se one TV-Butler tuner. (I started with one)
Then I tried to install my new Hauppauge tuner after removing the TV-Butler and restarting PLEX, but PLEX couldn’t se this tuner, despite that it is on your list.
Now i tried to update to the latest version: PlexMediaServer-1.23.6.4881-e2e58f321-x86_64_DSM6
Again I lost connection. It tells me to check my tuner or signal. The tuners and signal I fine. And again, when I deleted dvr and started all over again PLEX could not find the tuners. So once again, I removed PLEX server from my nas
Installed it again and now I can se my tuners again(TV-Butler) (Not Happauge).
Now I try to install the latest of my downloaded versions I think works (Before I lost connection) : PlexMediaServer-1.22.3.4392-d7c624def-x86_64_DSM6.
It works all right after installing it. But if I watch live tv, I only can start live tv once or twice (sometime tre times), after that I get the message: ‘Playback Error – Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna’
Then I close the browser and open it again. Then it works for some time until I try to se live tv again (one,two, tre times).
It then stops for god and I have to restart the media server on my nas.
Now I can se live tv again.
After doing this a few times I have to start all over again.
Removing PLEX from the server, installing it again, setting up the tuner, ect.ect.
So now I give up seeing live tv, as it stops my tuners working.
Right now I hold my breath, I can record but I dare not se live tv.
And I dare not upgrade from 1.22.3.4392-d7c624def-x86_64_DSM6.
Resume:
Somewhere in-between ver. 1.22.3.4392 and 1.23.3.4707 something goes wrong.
When I use ver. From 1.23.3.4707 and forward I lose connection to my tuners and live tv.
Beside that, I can’t ude my new Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD. Not on any of the versions. PLEX don’t recognize it at all.
