Some movies aren't matching to metadata

Plex Web Version#: 4.47.1

Having trouble getting my Plex server to match some movies correctly. It gets the film name, and year correctly but doesn’t seem to match any metadata automatically.

Opened the Match window on one of the films from my DVR software that didn’t match.

Go into the Search Options, and you can see the name and year correctly.

Press Search, and the list is different to before and the first one matches perfectly.

Just what I’ve observed from a quick look, but not sure if or what sort of logs are needed for this but can get them if needed.

I suspect your filename is causing the problem - remove the 2020-07-30-1459 from it (or place that in square brackets) and try again.

Yup, that was it. Placing them in square brackets and refreshing metadata found a match. When the Plex EPG provider changes, I’ll be back on Plex DVR so won’t be an issue then. Will just have to live without metadata on some DVR movies till then, as I’d be sat a while fixing file names :joy:
