I have a problem in which certain movies fail to play, via the Plex app on my Tivo Roamio Plus. Others play no problem. I see limited errors, all are about the device being a TiVo:

Aug 13, 2019 17:30:45.598 [0x7f1c14ff9700] DEBUG - [Now] Device is TiVo ().
Aug 13, 2019 17:30:45.598 [0x7f1c14ff9700] ERROR - Unable to find client profile for device; platform=TiVo, platformVersion=20.7, device=Roamio Plus, T6 (Series 5), model=TCD848

What I do see is the following:

Aug 13, 2019 17:28:47.844 [0x7f1c78f36700] DEBUG - Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected after 163840 bytes: 104 - Connection reset by peer

In this set of logs, it failed to play Spiderman Homecoming, and Captain Marvel, but would play Blade Runner 2049.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Oh, I can also definitely tell you that SM and CM were both BluRay cuts with MakeMKV, and then run through HandBrake to MP4. Can’t recall if BR was the same or not.

I should add that the same movies will stream to other devices, just not that Tivo app.

I have exactly the same problem with the new Plex app for Samsung Tv’s. I have found that in my case it’s the audio (VORBIS 5.1). The files play fine on any other platform.

Sadly, it doesn’t seem related to the audio. I have AAC 2.0 that have played and not, an AAC 5.1 that did, and a Dolby 5.1 that did not. :frowning:

I just used Handbrake on the Spiderman mkv and changed the audio settings, still not playing. Will try video next.

Still didn’t work.

I found that if I force a transcoding to a lower level, like 720p, I can get it to play. Just not at the natural level.

So, not a solution, but a workaround, anyway.
