I added two tv programmes to my library yesterday, at the same time. One shows as expected, the other doesn’t show at all.
I’ve moved the non compliant show out of the mapped library to try to refresh things. I’ve tried rescanning the library, and I’ve created a new library pointing specifically at this show and it will never show.
I’m at a loss on how to get it showing, so any help would be much appreciated.
I’ve attached my logs, as I’ve seen these can often help solve problems.
Can you double-check the file permissions for /volume1/Plex/Media Library/TV Show Extras/Frozen Planet/ and /volume1/Plex/Media Library/TV Shows/Match Of The Day - Sheffield Wednesday/ (and their sub-folders). Looks like this might be a permission issue where Plex cannot fully access that content.
Generally…
Don’t put content in the Plex share on your Synology. That share’s sole purpose is to store the metadata and Plex database.
As for your troublesheeting, adding the tv show’s folder directly into a test library… Plex always needs you to add the parent folder into the library… not individually assign the tv-show folders to the Plex Library! Example:
TV Shows <- point the library to this folder!
Game of Thrones
Season 01
Game of Thrones - s01e01.ext
...
Don’t do this:
TV Shows
Game of Thrones <- don't individually add this folder
Season 01
Game of Thrones - s01e01.ext
...
Match Of The Day - Sheffield Wednesday <- don't individually add this folder
Season 01
Match Of The Day - Sheffield Wednesday - s01e01.ext
...
Thanks. My mistake putting stuff in the Plex share. I’ve moved it out and put my media in to a new share.
I’ve mapped TV Shows to the new location, which it has scanned, but it still not picking up the Match of the Day show.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-03-09_21-02-54.zip (8.1 MB)
I’ve just spotted my mistake. As it’s a digitised VHS, it’s a made up series effectively. I just realised I’d not got a SxxExx at the end of the file name. I’ve just added them and it’s now pulled it through.
