Some things I’ve noticed while living with the new player for the last month or 2.
When playing a movie, it will play about a second of the movie, then start playing my pre-roll, then pick up playing the movie again. It’s only really noticeable on things that don’t have a sizeable chunk of black frames prior to the logo animations.
the fast forward and rewind tend to mess up a lot. When scrubbing forward, if you go a little too far and have to rewind, and then go a little to far and have to go forward a bit again it gets less and less accurate about where it is in the movie…
Sometimes it loads with no audio, and then I have to stop and start from beginning to get the audio to start playing again.
None of these problems occur by going back to the old player. So, for now, I did… However, I don’t think this is a good solution, as the new player definitely seems smoother in nearly every instance (Faster to load, fast forwarding when you don’t go too far, and HFR content)… So hopefully someone can look into these anomalies…
Hi i have same problems with the new player with Android TV.
I can not play any Videos (mkvs max. 1080p) with the new Player on Android TV (Philips TV). If i use the old Player it works, but no good quality. The stream is very pixalated and blocky. With Amazon Fire TV Stick it works.
My Server is a Windows 10, with a Intel Core i3 8100. The Plex Server Version is 1.18.5.2260.
HW Transcoding is with the Intel HD Graphics UHD630 (Intel Quick Sync). I use the latest Intel HD drivers.
“Use hardware-accelerated video encoding” and “Hardware transcoding” is enabled.
I tried different transcoding qualitys, but the problem is the same.
For what it’s worth, you can type in German here, there’s a few native german speakers, and a lot of us are used to using Google Translate to help. As for your issues, That hasn’t been my experience, but, I don’[t use my AndroidTV (Sony) as much as I use my firestick, so it could be that I just haven’t noticed it.
