Some thumbnails show blank when selected

This is my first post, so please forgive my inexperience.

I have been loading all of my movies and tv shows to my plex server and all has been working fine until today, I noticed that if I select a different artwork than the default one that Plex selects, when it updates the movie/tv icon, it displays blank. In the selection box, all of the available poster art shows fine, but after selection it is blank. If I manually add art that I’ve downloaded from the web, that works. Also, if I re-select the default image that Plex generates, it works as well. When I access the player, either from the web interface or an app on a smart device, the item will show blank, with a plex play icon.

I’ve tried several things. Restarting the server. Refreshing the metadata. Tried it on various items. It seems to be a general problem not related to any specific media item. I was thinking about clearing caches, but I didn’t want to do anything before I asked for assistance.

I’m hoping that I’m just not experienced enough that I’m missing something simple. Can you guys help?

An Update - The problem seems to have resolved itself. I can now select any of the pictures available in an item’s list of posters. Not sure why. Just waited awhile. Would still like to know if there was actually a problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.
