Something went wrong playing your media

Has anyone received this message:
Could not direct play because: App cannot direct play this item. No direct play video profile exists for protocol http, with container mkv, and video codec hevc. Could not translate because: file is unplayable. Color space is not supported.

The odd thing is that I am only getting this on my files in my MOVIES library and on .mkv/265 files that played fine just a few days ago.

I am hoping someone reading these forums may be able to assist cause its pretty frustrating.

where do you play this mkv file?

HTTP? Are you trying to watch this on a browser? They famously cannot play a lot of content, so would likely need to be transcoded. Did you disable video transcoding in the server settings?

Using the app on my apple tv. Odd thing i just discovered that if i use my app native on my samsung tv. No issue.

Not watching on a browser. using my apple tv app. tried disabling video transcoding and no difference.

I have similar message on my Panasonic TV. For protocols http dush etc. Also written that no profile. Plex told me that this TV doesnt support by Plex.
These files play but with transcode?

Yep, “Color space is not supported” seems new. I’m getting this with Apple TV and iOS for all Dolby Vision HEVC content.

Also getting this with most of my DV content :frowning: Latest beta Apple TV

I re installed my plex app on my apple tv. This has appeared to resolve the glitchiness for now. Fingers crossed.
