I’ve noticed the same thing. I can’t select the Sonos speakers from either Plex or PlexAmp on android, or on PMC or Plexamp on Linux, or on PHT on Mac. In the web viewer, the “cast” button just gives me a “link to your Sonos account”, which I’ve already done, and if I do it again nothing changes.
I can still play the music from my library by using the Sonos android app, so it seems like on some level the services are able to talk to each other, but I’d rather use Plex’s apps.
I’m also on Plex 1.24.3.5033, running under docker in unRaid.
Same here. I’ve got multiple Sonos zones in the house. Yesterday they were all accessible via the cast button. Today started out with a message in the drop down that typically showed my zones that said I needed to connect my Sonos account. Did that multiple times. Removed and restored Sonos device authorization. Now my iMac shows NOTHING in the Cast button, my Android Phone shows all my Google devices but no Sonos.
Same also I can use the PLEX server as a music source within the Sonos app, but that’s a really crappy UI for music (I don’t know how people could possibly be satisfied with that experience.)
I had an issue over the weekend where all my Sonos devices vanished and I was asked to re-authorise Sonos. After that I found that the REST API Plex uses to control Sonos was returning error 500 (internal error) to all calls, while the Sonos app was able to summon up music from Plex just fine. It all mysteriously fixed itself Sunday morning.
I am also having this issue. Re-added plex in the sonos app and could cast from my plex server, but when using plexamp, the connect to player cast screen will simply not populate sonos devices.
Continued troubleshooting, and eventually when I logged into the plex web view in a browser, clicking the cast icon displayed the relink sonos option. That was definitely missing when I tested before, and definitely was not appearing in plexamp. Fixed the issue.
Here’s a little update.
I did all the things listed here and nothing helps.
But then my Sonos speakers “magically” appears.
But then they disappeared.
But then they appeared but only in Plex (not in PlexAmp).
This is shockingly frustrating. The only reliable way to use Plex with Sonos is through the Sonos app. And that’s great for listing to one album or a playlist but negates most of the features of having Plex.
HORROR.
I’m having the same problems except mine isn’t intermittent – it’s completely inop. I can’t cast to Sonos from plex via any of my devices however I can play just fine from the Sonos app. Definitely not the functionality I hoped for. I hope someone out there is smart enough to figure this out. Reauthorization/wait protocol isn’t working for me.

The issue just surfaced today for me with Android and iOS app as well as Plexamp on both Android and iOS. I have update s/w on Sonos and have latest versions running of Plex app and servers. I can cast, however using Windows app and from hosted Plex.tv site. Odd.
Update - of course immediately after typing this I was prompted on the hosted site to re link my Sonos account in upper right hand corner near personal icon. Having re linked the Sonos account I can cast again. Back to your regularly scheduled programming…
