NAS WD PR4100 with PLEX running essentially for local streams of films.
I used it also for music as a source for my sonos system. It worked like a charm since the latests two upgrades.
Actually, when i search for my plex music in SONOS, only online services are proposed…
Did someone have the same problem and eventually found a solution ?
Plex for Sonos requires Remote Access to be running. This is an unfortunate limitation of how Sonos operates. A music service on Sonos needs to be internet-based, so a Plex Cloud server actually handles the music/artist listings for what’s on your Plex server. When it comes to actually playing the music, however, the Plex Cloud server tells your Sonos device(s) to get the music from your Plex server instead, taking the cloud server out of that loop.
So yes, unfortunately remote access needs to be set up and working on your Plex server in order to play music through Plex for Sonos.
