This issue started 6 months ago approx… I though it was because of my network, but Everything is hardwired, there is no wireless connection between the server and the player.
The case scenario is the following. I hit play on a Movie or TV show, and what happens is that the android player in the sony tv shows the following error: “An error ocurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again”
What I found to be a makeshift solution, which makes no sense, is to start the movie from the iphone Plex app, the movie starts without any issues. Then I pause it, and resume it from the Android TV or Firestick devices.
How come I have to do this? makes no sense, so please fix it… it is an issue from the Android TV and Firestick players. 6-7 months ago we never had this issue, so it’s some bug related to the latest versions of the players you launched during late 2020 and 2021.
Notes:
- All my network is hardwired, there is no wireless connection between the server and the tv players.
- The error started to appear late 2020 after a new update for the android tv player
- The error occurs with or without an audio receiver.
- The issue also occurs when tv series are in autoplay… loading the next episode shows exactly the same error, while playing an individual episode from any show, works ok — autoplay the next episode, the same error occurs.
