There are several film series in my library that I choose custom sort titles for according to their position in the series (i.e., Aliens, James Bond, Mission: Impossible, Evil Dead, etc.). I modify the sort titles of the series in the manner of “Matrix 01,” “Matrix 02,” etc. These changes work fine on their own, remaining locked and preserved after a metadata refresh.
However, if an alternate poster is selected during the same edit in which the sort title is saved, the sort title changes but is not locked. Because of this, after the next metadata update, the series collections scatter and must be hunted down and resorted.
This issue has been persistent since I began using PMS several years ago.
