Player Version#: Plex for Samsung 5.88.1
There is a strange interaction between Plex and Samsung that perhaps someone has encountered.
Briefly:
My Samsung TV is hooked up to an Amp via an Optical cable. This is selectable from the settings of the TV and does not seem to present any issue. When selected the TV is audible from the Amp.
If I go into Plex and select Music and play anything from any album - sound comes through the Amp and is perfect.
If I play a TV show or a Movie - there is no sound from the Amp.
If I change the settings on the TV to be TV Speakers - then I get sound for TV shows / Movies coming out of the TV AND out of the Amp simultaneously - I am not even sure how that is possible.
It appears that somewhere Plex or the TV is confusing the Optical Out for TV Speaker out - but only when you play Movies or TV shows - which makes me think a Plex problem (how would the TV know what you were playing, it isn’t that Smart).
There are very limited settings in Plex for Samsung for Audio, so I am not sure how I would fix this issue from within the App.
I was hoping someone had been here before, but I couldn’t find a thread.
