You are right. For my tests, I usually just use files named s01e01, s01e02, etc since that is all Plex cares about for matching. . For my own library files, I like to append the episode names just for my own sanity.

I use Filebot to name my files. I usually use TMDB as my matching source.

TMDB is the default that Plex uses, so I would think it would “just work” as they say.

So far no luck. I will keep trying.

Can you post how your files are being named and verify the selected episode ordering is TMDB (aired)?

Have you tried doing the Plex dance to make sure there are no metadata stragglers in the databases?
