Specific show won't pull in episode description, but is matched

Specifically, I have The Mary Tyler Moore show in my library and it matches properly with the right entries. It gets the right thumbnails and titles and everything, but it annoyingly doesn’t grab the episode descriptions.

It only shows the title as the summary for every episode. I checked and the files had some metadata in the title field so I removed all metadata from them, cleaned bundles, emptied trash, and then re-added them all to Plex. But the issue persists.

My files are named appropriately – in this case the Comedy library: “The Mary Tyler Moore Show > Season 01 > S01E01 Episode Title.mp4” and appear to be scanning in correctly while Refresh Metadata doesn’t help. I tried this using the Plex TV Series and Plex Series and TVDB agents, all of which failed to get episode summaries.

Is there any way I can get them to pull in the right summaries? Episode dates and stuff are pulled in too, so this is vexing me. I’d really rather not manually edit well over 100 episodes if I can avoid it.

EDIT: To be clear, the episodes have proper summaries on The TVDB (except the first episode).

Are you sure that you removed all metadata, and not just the “Title” tags?
(Episode descriptions are appearing as a separate tag, named “Longpodcastdesc” in mp3tag Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...))

Which agent is now selected in your library?

Does this show have episode descriptions on TheMovieDB.com as well?
