I’ve added a handful of new TV Shows over the last few weeks and the newly added episodes (over the last week or so) are all missing the episode summary. The episodes are all named correctly, have banners, posters, theme songs and all of the other metadata has been added with the exception of the episode summaries.
Will the summaries show up if you click Refresh Metadata (on the show or single episodes)?
That helped in the past if the initial metadata download mixed things up or didn’t grab all the metadata on the 1st go.
I have hit Refresh Metadata several times, done the plex dance at least once. This is for the last three shows I’ve added with multiple seasons of episodes and no episode summaries.
I just removed all the new shows and added only one episode and all the metadata appears except for the episode summary.
Just to rule this out… does that show have episode summaries for your language on TheTVDb.com?
All three shows have episode summaries on tvdb. Right now I’m just trying to add episode 6 from Parks and Recreation. Rock Show. It has a summary on tvdb, but it will not appear when I add it to the server. All the other data appears. The episode name, rating, air date, etc. The only other thing that appears to be missing (which I don’t really care about as much) is the director.

After you mentioned language, I thought I’d try something and what I figured out was that somehow the language of my library changed from English to Dansk. Once I changed it back to English and fixed the match and refreshed the metadata, all episodes had summaries. Thank you for your help.
Seems like you triggered this bug by changing the language of your library: No fallback to English?
I was able to change the language back to English. I don’t ever recall changing the language to anything other than that, but when I went into the Library settings, I noticed it was set to Dansk.
