My personal network plex works great - I can access all my movies on all devices. One of my friends is sharing their plex with us and this week, every show on every device just spins and loads and never will play, no matter how long we wait. If by the rare chance it does play, it plays for 2-3 seconds and then buffers for a substantial amount of time or never plays again. Our friends say they can access their own plex on all devices with no buffering issues. Any help?
We would need more information if we’re going to figure this one out. Most likely logs too from his server when you try to play something, so it might be best if he gets activated in this thread too. But you can start with telling us how the network looks between the two of you (up/down, distance, ISP etc), what type of server he has, if the file in question if transcoding or not, what the remote streaming settings are (and put that into comparison with network abilities), are all software (incl Plex server and clients) and router firmware updated, has he tried it on his phone and seen if the problem persists remotely like it does for you.
