I have two shows that have been merged and are presented as two versions of each of their 6 episodes, rather than as two distinct shows. You can see from this cap that their filenames and paths are very distinct, yet somehow they are merged as two versions of the same show. The Merge and Split article says I should be able to split the two versions, then I could address the incorrect match, but so far I can’t find the Split functionality for TV shows.
Instead of using the split, I’d rather verify the three things below.
Otherwise the issue might repeat itself when you add more episodes:
Since these are mp4 files, these could have incorrect embedded metadata.
Go to Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie

Verify that your series library points exactly to Volumes/R-Media/Shares/TVShows/Series
