As you can see from the screenshot, I added two new episodes with their subtitles (English and Chinese) to my TV Show library. However, none of my added subtitles are showed. I can’t see the Chinese one, at least.
And the most weird thing is that, when I added S03E01 files, my English and Chinese subtitles showed!!! But after adding next S03E02 files, they all became “English - SRT Forced” and “English - SRT”. My added “English - SRT External” and “中文 - SRT External” were all gone…
I’m so confused… What can I do now? Thanks!
My Plex media server is installed on QNAP TS-453A, server version 1.8.1.4139.
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
and
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
in both places, the line ‘Local Media Assets’ needs to be checked.
I don’t know whether QNAP is susceptible to the access permission problem like many other linux-based systems.
If your external subtitle files are still not seen by Plex after you made the changes under 1),
check the file access permissions of your SRT files. https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200288596-Linux-Permissions-Guide

Seems problem solved…
Because video file is upper case, subtile is lower case…
Yes, since QNAP is running Linux
and Linux is a ‘Unix-oid’ operating system.
Those do distinguish between upper and lower case file names (contrary to Windows).
For Linux NARCOS.txt is a different file than Narcos.txt - in fact, those two files can exist in the same folder simultaneously!
