SSL Certificate Errors

@ChuckPa
Hi can I have my certificate reset as well please?

Thanks!

Hi Chuck Pa…

I spoke to soon about being solved. I am noticing that when i got to Plex.tv i can’t access my secured network.

But when i do access my network from my smart phone and tv it works fine. My secured network is set on preferred also

I just can’t access my server from plex.tv

any help would be great.

Thanks!

Can you reset mine please ? I’m seeing net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID for a while now

@crystalin

May I see the logs ZIP please? That’s not what you should see from the Plex certificate.

That sounds more like something else.

@NetPlex3

Which device(s)?

There is the RasPlex issue for many.

@netholden

Your certificates are valid
Valid Wed, 06 Oct 2021 10:38:36 +0000 Wed, 06 Oct 2021 10:39:19 +0000

Check the players .

The log snippet provided did not contain sufficient information.
The best information to provide is:

  1. Startup
  2. wait 2 minutes
  3. (re)create the error
  4. Download the logs ZIP file
  5. Attach it

Thanks for the reply ChuckPa

Its for my mac mini 2018. Its funny that when i created a test server on my synology it works. It just won’t work on my mac mini when we cleared my certificate.

@bigbilly

Your certificate has been reset. Restart the server

@netholden

Supplemental: I cleaned out all the old / abandoned server entries on Plex.tv
Restarting players and server is a good idea.

I don’t have access to the logs (as I can’t connect, but this is what I get in the plex.tv console)

plex.direct errors mean DNS rebinding is blocking the connection / DNS overlay domain.

Do you have access to the modem/router ?

If so, can you create a Private Domain exception for *.plex.direct ?

Thank you, I think it was related to having an out of date plex media server version

That could also do it – if it was sufficiently old.

@ChuckPa

Can you please check/reissue a new cert for my server? I have an LG WebOS v6.x user who is unable to connect securely. No other clients seem to have an issue.

I’ve attempted to regenerate the new cert by deleting the .p12 file and rebooting to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

@kmem512

Both reset .

Restart

Many thanks!

Hey ChuckPa, thanks for resetting the certificate, I’m still getting the followings error,

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:000.000.000.000]:00000: sslv3 alert certificate expired

Any idea why this is?

Hey @torncylinder
I’m having the exact same issues, did you get this working?

Hi!
So far no, its still throwing errors on the TV.
At some point i’m probably going to head over and catch it in the moment and see.

They’re reset/reinstalled everything, same issue.

I have reduced the amount of issues I may have had but still no go yet.

Yeah I ended up installing the Samsung app on my TV (usually use a shield) to test with it. From what I’ve read I don’t think there is a whole lot we can do as it looks like it’s Samsung’s certificate not PLEX but I was hoping you’d figured something out haha

I figured out the issue, the version of Plex that Western Digital offers for their My Cloud Home devices is extremely out of date. Western Digital insists that the issue is on Plex’s side and that Plex needs to roll out the update to WD devices.

Please see the following URL for more information: Plex Update needed - #49 by supersim65 - My Cloud Home - WD Community

The current workaround to this is to broadcast over an insecure network, but as you can imagine I’m a bit hesitant to do so.
