@ChuckPa Can you check mine too?
CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:53279: sslv3 alert certificate unknown
[CERT] TLS connection from [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:53279 came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name ‘xx-xxx-xxx-xx.dbba7f6bc16247508d7362dae7e4875b.plex.direct’; using installed plex.direct cert

@ChuckPa

Hi - Can I have my certificate reset as well please? I Believe this is the cause for my issues connecting remotely. (WD My Cloud Home). Please let me know if you need the logs.

Thank you.

Hi,

@ChuckPa

Having a hell of a time accessing server remotely,

I see the entries in the logs below:

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.1.11]:57044: tlsv1 alert unknown ca

[CERT] TLS connection from [::ffff:192.168.1.178]:49990 came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name ‘192-168-1-11.3f209752b2874736a783b91b67d8ba65.plex.direct’; using installed plex.direct cert

[CERT] TLS connection from [::ffff:192.168.1.178]:61270 came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name ‘192-168-1-11.c62a9246e16f45318605157f50d3ffb7.plex.direct’; using installed plex.direct cert

Is there anything you can do to resolve this?

Looks like previous posts show a plex admin had to go in and reset the cert

Thanks!

Hi Chuck,

I reset but i got the same log error: “CERT: incomplete TLS handshake: sslv3 alert certificate unknown”. I’ve got “my cloud home” (so, reset = turn off / on the device). there is a way to check what cert plex used?

Thanks

If you have a WD My Cloud Home then afaik you need to disable secure connections. The current version of server will not run on those. We are working with WD to update but I do not have an ETA. If you can provide your server logs it would be appreciated.

Which of your 6 servers please ? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

:smiley:

@jspracher

Same question: Which of your 4 servers please ?

I having this issue lately.

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:58450: sslv3 alert certificate unknown

Do I need my certification reset?

@reotto

Is the IP from someone you know or from one of Plex’s servers?

Unknown implies from someone with a cert not known to Plex.

Oh I know exactly what the IP is. It is from a tablet in my house. Happens on other devices as well.

@rkovelman

Cert reset. dead server entries removed.

Restart.

Server “Plex” has a current cert – did not reset.

@reotto

The cert looks like a Sept 30 cert.

I reset it for posterity.

Restart the server then restart the apps.

@gaz2k1

It’s not your certficiate.

Your logs would also show certificate errors. Your cert was generated:

Valid	Sun, 10 Oct 2021 18:34:54 +0000	Sun, 10 Oct 2021 18:35:33 +0000

It did not cross the Sept 30 boundary.

@FLUDzilla

Your server’s cert – also 10 Oct.

When is the last you restarted it all ?

@edvrsoft

Your cert also:

Valid	Sun, 10 Oct 2021 10:39:22 +0000	Sun, 10 Oct 2021 10:39:59 +0000

Restart it all.
