SSL Certificate Errors

Yes, that is there as well as the location of my custom certificate.

With verbose logging enabled I’m also seeing this when I get anerror in my Android app:

[CERT] TLS connection came in with non-plex.direct SNI ‘plex.MYDOMAIN.TLD’, but no custom cert available; serving plex.direct cert

The error I get in the android app is this: An error occured while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.

@jhenson071

Would you mind summarizing and marking solved?

[SOLVED] I had a case of the big dumb and had a trailing space in my custom certificate and key locations causing the SSL errors. I am also running on unRaid so be sure to pass the location of your certificates to the Plex docker so that plex can see it.

I’m not the OP so that’s the best I can do!

I also am having the certificate issues, please assist

@Kurtisjfinley i reset yours but can’t tell if your server is even running

@BigWheel or anyone else, would you be able to reset mine?

@aschillingchi i don’t see anything wrong with your cert. What error exactly are you getting, or what is not working precisely

This is super weird, on my Samsung TV all is working fine.
On my PS5 I can’t even see my library with the console error:
CERT: incomplete TLS handshake: tlsv1 alert unknown ca
On my mobile devices I can see the library but cannot play any of the content.

Already restarted all at home inc. router, also logout and login… don’t really know what to do :confused:

@BigWheel I am unable to connect to Plex through an web browser. My Rokus, Apple TV, and such have no issue streaming content. This is the error I am getting.

@tczabumba

Full power cycle of the device. Let it start up fresh

I did, already twice, since my Server is installed in a QNAP NAS I need to fully restart the NAS.
It’s just strange.

PS: On the browser works fine as well.

I did a full cycle reboot after the cert correction and it did not work, Any suggestions?

Try changing your DNS on the device or your router to Googles 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or cloudfare 1.1.1.1

Having this issue as well.
I have restarted several times.
Toggled secure options back and forth with no change.
This appears in the log:
CERT: incomplete TLS handshake: sslv3 alert certificate unknown

Should note that TVs and remote players are working fine (Likely through the remote connection). The secure connection isn’t working through Plex.TV. This started after I updated last night.

did you try changing your DNS on device or in router

I did. I have fooled with all aspects of DNS on the PFSense firewall. I have tried Google DNS, OpenDNS, and my ISP.

Regarding pfSense,

Do you have the DNS rebinding exception rule set ?

Which version are you using?

Version 21.05 and I have completed the steps for DNS rebinding exception rule.

I’m having the same issue, is there a permanent solution yet? Is someone from the Plex team able to reset my certificate on your end as well please?
