The problem with the device is it’s embedded root certificate.
You need to go to GitHub and get the updated software.

If you are using a Raspbery client, or a TV (LG & Samsung are most impacted),
Hi, it looks that mine certificate is broken too. Can You check it for me? What information You need for that?
Thanks for the cleanup! Is this something we have access to somehow?
I’m still having my connection issues from my FireTV and iOS-webkit clients, so I’m going to dig deeper, possibly trying to get the logs of the iOS browser app… I tried setting this as unsecured but meh.
Responding to myself, but turns out, I had a vastly outdated Syno Server… Updating it fixed the things.
Under normal circumstances, when you retire or abandon a server instance,
Settings - Authorized Devices - Server (dropdown) is where you finalize its removal so Plex.tv knows it’s no longer a viable server . This will propagate to the apps when they next refresh/start.
ChuckPa did You checked my case?
Yes I had. I apologize for not posting it.
Your certificate was created:

Make certain the announcement above about Samsung, LG, and other televisions
plus the known root certificate upgrade for Raspberry Pi players doesn’t apply to you.
Chuck,
I had to step away from this problem for a bit, but yesterday I installed PMS on an old laptop. The AppleTV Plex connects to this with no problem. The folders simply showed up as soon as I launched the app.
So this leads me to think that the problem lies somewhere with the Drobo hardware itself, or the Drobo PMS (still version 1.21.2.3943 because Drobo hasn’t released in update and manual updates keep failing), or maybe with another app running on the Drobo.
Hey @ChuckPa, could you please check if my certificate is OK? Some of the Samsung clients have troubles accessing my server
You had 13 dead servers on your account - You owe me at least a beer !
Your certificate had been reset this morning by Plex.tv itself. Restart the server.
Yes, I did. I thought i reported already

Have you restarted the server since this time?
Just have, still cannot connect on one of my machines via the web. Telnet shows that I can connect to the address and the port, but I cannot access it directly via the web either by IP or via plex.tv/web.
Just realized the port I was manually selecting wasn’t good for secure connections, which was my issue. Switching it to a different port worked. Sorry for the inconvenience.
No problem! Confirming what it’s not allows us to focus to what the root cause is.
Could you check my server as well? Did perform multiple restarts, but a Samsung tv user is still complaining about playback errors.
Does that Samsung user have one of the TVs listed here or in need of firmware update ? (some folks do forget to update it)
also getting: CERT: incomplete TLS handshake: sslv3 alert certificate unknown. not sure what to do
sorry i’m a new user, so i apologize if this isn’t the correct place to post this
