SSL Certificate Errors

@TheLemon22

Does your desktop PC have any script blockers in the browser ?

JS / Javascript / Typescript ?

No and I even tried MS Edge, and Firefox to log in.

For example, when I try to log in to Plex forums from that machine, it just says:

“There was a problem signing in to Plex” in red letters.

There is some sort of weird thing happening between Plex’s authentication server and my desktop PC but I can’t figure out what it is.

Weird thought.

  1. Open https://app.plex.tv/desktop (the hosted desktop app)
  2. From there, sign out that window.
  3. Now use that window to try your access.

I’m wondering if cookies / something have gotten caught.

When I try to access that page from my desktop PC, it gives me a splash page that says:

“Plex is not reachable”

On all browsers

Are you using Plex email authentication or some other auth?

The email address used by the forum is showing me:

I’m starting to suspect the server is running but is in unclaimed status.

I am trying to sign in using my Plex credentials, not Google or anything else.

The server appears to be claimed and running smoothly? All of my clients that aren’t my desktop PC are working well.

May I ask you to reset certificate on my rasplex? It reports sslv3 problem in logs.

@maharajx

I reset the certificate for INU even though it’s perfectly valid. It was created 4-Feb-2022

Valid	Fri, 04 Feb 2022 02:01:00 +0000	Fri, 04 Feb 2022 02:01:10 +0000

Restart the server

@groove_la_chord

I reset the certificate for Lacie (F:) – Weird name BTW

Valid Tue, 11 Jan 2022 14:52:48 +0000 Tue, 11 Jan 2022 14:53:09 +0000

Restart the server please

If this doesn’t clear it, I need DEBUG logs which capture what’s happening

Thank you, Chuck! The problem persists, however:

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.1.165]:42714: sslv3 alert certificate expired

Enclosing the logs.

@maharajx

What is the device at 192.168.1.165 ?
It’s what has the expired certificate.

Feb 16, 2022 19:14:47.560 [0x700005f65000] DEBUG - CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.1.165]:42714: sslv3 alert certificate expired
Feb 16, 2022 19:14:50.624 [0x700005ee2000] DEBUG - CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.1.165]:42718: sslv3 alert certificate expired

The device is rasplex on raspberry pi 3 that plays music from shared library on Plex server inu.

I need the server logs. They will contain this latest activity.

@maharajx

If memory serves, there was an update to the Rasplex software.

I don’t remember the details but do know:

  1. It updated the root certificate in the build
  2. It’s available on Github.

It might have updated other things.

After what I can see in the database, you have enabled Google Auth towards an account that slightly scrambled looks like: zrmaXXXX@gmail.com

So maybe try in your browser and auth. with that

@ChuckPa
Reset mine please. Getting various “sslv3 alert certificate expired” and “sslv3 alert certificate unknown” in the logs. Things were working normally until recently.

@jgatmaitan

I have reset your certificate (it was stuck “Generating”).

Please restart the server

@ChuckPa Awesome. That did the trick. Thanks.
