I have them named according to theTVDB. There are two ‘seasons’ of these specials, and the first season of them show up in the specials folder with the proper titles and descriptions.
The second season, however, is only showing the episode number.
Star Trek Short Treks - S00E02 - episode name >> S00E11
S00E02-05 appear correctly. S00E06-S00E11 only show the episode number. Can anyone offer any help?
I saw that on theTVDB, but when I put them in as a separate show and named/numbered accordingly, it would not populate the data for ANY of the episodes. I had seen an old thread on here where people were saying it worked to put them all in as specials. That was the only way any of the titles showed up. You can see my confusion.
Ah, I did not see that! I did the plex dance to get them back in as specials, because when I tried to make them their own show Plex was convinced they were the main show (Discovery). It looks like I may have to just name them manually for now, and try to update in a few days. Thanks for pointing that out!
So i have short treks in their own show and in the correct seasons. Sonarr has matched these with the TVDB but Plex refuses to match it at all. I have tried to match manually but it just shows no results.
Any ideas?!
Edit: I had to manually do a search and select The Movie Database. No matter what search time i tried with The TVDB it would not find “Short Treks”
I think Filebot does as well - the reason is those guys connect to TVDB Directly and Plex goes through the Plex TVDB Proxy (24-48 hour delay). <—had about enough of that as well.
Well, I doubt there’s anything we can do about it as the Proxy does seem to be a necessary evil, but it does need to be updated more often, IMO (like twice a day, at least).
Most of the issue for me is Short Treks shouldn’t be a different show. They’re ‘teasers’, man. Little things that keep you interested and foaming at the mouth for the next season. They’re Specials.
TMDB has them set up like that ATM.
I hope they don’t get any ‘bright ideas’. <— 'cause there’s no arguing with either of them.
When I hit the tvdb API, I can find the show and the episodes. “short treks” as search gives show with both season 1 (1-5) and 2 (6-11) with all the right info.
Oddly the word Discovery breaks search.
Interestingly “star trek discover short treks” returns:

}
search term: “Star Trek Short Treks” returns:

Using the show ID of 376108, I was able to drill down and get all the episodes with synopsis and images, etc. https://api.thetvdb.com/series/376108/episodes/query?airedSeason=2&airedEpisode=1 returned everything ever wanted to know about Q&A
I tried moving and renaming my MKVs to “short treks” and Plex still failed to find it: No matches for search. . Man I wish I knew what their query pattern was. I
