It’s really a hot steaming pile.
Plex tries to label s1-e1 as “Droids in distress” and s2-e1 as “the lost commanders”
As a result, EVERYTHING is wrong in these two seasons.
Fix this!
- Look up your show on TheTVDB
- Take the title as it is used on TheTVDB.
If there is something in parentheses, take that too.
If the title contains invalid characters (depends on your file system), like§ : % *, simply leave them out. - Check the naming and the folder structure of your show.
Name the top folder of the show exactly after the title on TheTVDB.
No abbreviations. No additional subfolders. No aliases.
Add the (year) in parentheses of when episode 1 of season 1 of this show was aired. - Name the episode files according to the above linked naming guide.
Use the same title as for the top folder.Show's Title (year) - s01e01 - additional info.ext(’- additional info’ can be left out) - After you corrected the naming and folder structure, perform the Plex Dance with all files for this show.
Its ■■■■■■ up on thetvdb too.
I don’t know anything about that particular show however I can say with absolute certainty that the TVDB is going down hill fast.
I have no idea if it’s anything malicious or newer users just don’t know how to use it… but the other day I discovered there was apparently no such show as “supernatural” because someone decided to change the English title to the Spanish one. I noticed another couple of similar things so I set up most shows I have in a “dummy” install of Sonarr.
14 out of the 90 shows I added no longer exist apparently. (Mostly now changed back)
They all existed when I did an actual Server reinstall a couple of weeks ago.
So what ever is going on with TVDB it’s recent.
Is plex going to fix this?

You would have to get it changed on thetvdb, that is where the metadata comes from.
I have rebels and watched it as it aired, what episodes do you think they “should” be? Those are the correct episodes based on when they were aired. Perhaps we can help with a solution if you tell us how you think it should be.
Edit: for what it’s worth, themoviedb has it in the same order as well.
Well … i have this show too and plex take the info from TVDB and TMDB…
so it’s not the problem from plex but from website…
Not sure where you are getting the order from. If it’s from the DVD you can try editing the show and changing this.

Sorry but plex is at the mercy of the online media sources.
As @Nights0ng stated, it comes from there.
In fact, all the info comes down that pipe. Plex can not make up metadata or create an order based on no information(unless we are talking about embedded info).

While Plex gathers metadata from thetvdb or themoviedb. We do not own or maintain those databases and cannot fix them.
You can edit metadata on your server however you please. I think originally A Spark of rebellion and the next were pilot specials which is why those databases have it that way, then after the show became popular they were reclassified by Disney as episode 1 and 2
Regardless as @anon18523487 mentioned you can change it to dvd order which thetvdb does have despite their new site not presenting it

Ahh, I remember now. They had the 2 part spark of rebellion for season 1 that is listed as S0E9 (in the specials).

Use DVD order to put them in the right order.

I recall having all sorts of problems getting the episode naming right for this show: there were quite a few specials that need to be set as S00Exx. Worth the effort, though, great show.

I initially had problems with this show and took me a while to get the file naming correct - this is what I used and I’m using TheTVDB with Episode ordering set to Airing Order. Hope this helps you …

If you’re posing a question about TVDB on a Plex forum, and the community tells you that Plex does not own or maintain the metadata from TVDB, then that should be sufficient enough of an answer and you move on to the TVDB forums. For you to simply state “you have one job” when you can clearly see posts that say it’s not Plex but it’s TVDB, then you’re just not listening.
On top of it all, you obviously do not have Plex pass, in which case, you use Plex for free. So to tell people that provide you with a free product that “you have one job” just sounds selfish.
Put your money where your mouth is and pay for Plex Pass then complain like the rest of the paying community about the features that aren’t working for you, until then, please take multiple seats!!!
lol, but in this case the OP could give plex 1 billion dollars and still the issue won’t be fixed.

hahah, I beg to differ on this notion. I would assume with 1 billion dollars, Plex would buy out TVDB and do it right, just saying!!! 
Only if that was the stipulation on the 1 billion dollars.
Though, I wonder how much pull the OP would have if the OP at some time(say a couple of years ago) did in fact give 1 billion then come here and posed the same question. Would Plex in turn contact thetvdb and ask for the change it because their biggest contributor asks for it.
