The episodes are matched in the wrong order https://i.imgur.com/t7AXJYO.jpg
However, when I check here Season 1 of Star Wars: Visions (2021) | Plex is where to watch your movies and TV the order of episodes is correct. Isn’t it supposed to be using the same database? How could I force the correct order, besides manually editing each episode?
This will depend on which default episode ordering you have configured for your library (or if you have overridden that for this particular show).
The data on watch.plex.tv is usually based on the default configuration, using episode ordering from The Movie Database.
If you have set the ordering on purpose for the entire library you can override it for each show.

Came here to post the same thing – sadly, we all seem to be experiencing same/similar issue(s). The files are properly named, but the order is out of whack:
I believe the issue stems from the foreign (Japanese) characters in the episode listing here: スター・ウォーズ:ビジョンズ - Aired Order - Season 1 - TheTVDB.com
However, things are correct on a different site, but don’t want to mess everything else up by forcing a different (TheMovieDB) Agent for Shows, but i am open to suggestion. Haven’t figured out any other options, hence wanting to consult the experts here. Thanks!
EDIT: when i was fiddling with my settings, after adjusting some things, I was presented with the following warning (although i thought i already applied this adjustment globally, to all libraries Movies, Shows & Music). Is my Plex server just really old? I continually update things, but it’s quite possible I’ve missed huge swaths of new features or upgrades over the past ~few years.

I’m using TVDb ordering, I believe that was the default option when I was creating the library. I just tried every other possible option for this show, and it doesn’t changed a thing: the episodes are still in the same wrong order. So I’m pretty confident it has nothing to do with my local settings.
If the TheMovieDB is correct then with the new agent you can set only that show to use the other episode ordering from that site as @tom80H mentioned. This will not affect the default ordering that the library will use for other shows in that library.
That is only possible with the new Plex TV Series agent
My library uses the Plex TV series agent with TheMovieDB as the default ordering. For Firefly I know that the DVD Order on TVDB is the correct one. So i only change it for that show
I believe you (@shotfirer) to be correct here – after watching the first ~couple episodes, I’ve noticed that despite being labelled incorrectly, all the videos actually are in and play in the correct order, they’re just wildly inaccurate and mislabeled. I skipped ahead, thinking I was going to watch MY Episode 3 “Tatooine Rhapsody” (which i thought was second), however after going back and checking, they are DEFINITELY in the correct file order, but still wrong.
Episode 1 - The Duel is correct. The next two are correct as you play through the season, sequentially, however they remain mislabeled. Adjusting from TheTVDB to TheMovieDB didn’t appear to help any. YMMV.
As I’ve said above, I already tried that.
TheMovieDB has the correct listing on their website. So does TVDb. However, choosing either of them for the episode ordering doesn’t change a thing: the episodes are still labeled incorrectly.
OK. I suspect our proxy has not been updated yet if it was recently corrected on TMDB after it got released. I would leave it on TMDB and refresh metadata tomorrow.
I am totally confused… I added the show 5 hours ago (on one server).
I am using the new tv agent with ordering of theTVDB.
The order in Plex on that server matches what is on TMDB:
1: The Duel
2: Tatooine Rhapsody
3: The Twins
4: The Village Bride
5: The Ninth Jedi
6: T0-B1
7: The Elder
8: Lop & Ochō
9: Akakiri
But @shotfirer suggests the order on watch.plex is the correct order.
But that is not what is on TMDB.
Edit, I just scanned my TV library on another server and the order on that one now shows:
1: The Duel
2: Lop & Ochō
3: Tatooine Rhapsody
4: The Twins
5: The Elder
6: The Village Bride
7: Akakiri
8: T0-B1
9: The Ninth Jedi
Both Servers have the same agent settings
Edit, and on the server that I just scanned if I play episode that shows as Lop & Ochō it plays Tatooine Rhapsody
I’m seeing exactly the same order on watch.plex, and this is the correct order of episodes. The same as on TMDb or TVDb
In my Plex library I’m seeing the order from your second example.
The problem is gone, the episodes are in the correct order now, thanks.
