the first post i made about this was closed and i couldnt find a way to re-open it, since the solution given there turns out wasnt a solution really.
so here goes again..
For some reason someone decided that the android client shouldnt behave like the other clients, so when a movie is stopped, and then later started again, it starts at the exact same spot. But all other players ive tried it starts a few seconds earlier when resuming.
i would like the android client (nvidia shield in my case) acts like the other clients and starts the movie a few seconds earlier when resuming.
and with that i mean resuming after the movie has been STOPPED. not paused.
the other clients start at the exact same time when resuming from paused. and ONLY rewinds a few seconds when the movie has been stopped. and this is what im suggesting the android tv plex client should do too.
using the suggestion in the first post i made also “rewinds” when starting the movie when its paused. and that IS NOT the same as the other clients.
All the supported clients I know behave like this.
If you’ve configured the Player Experience to rewind on resume, Plex will start the configured amount of seconds before that mark… no matter if the video is resuming from a pause or if it was stopped.
For reference, here’s your original suggestion.
It was closed as implemented after you flagged the reference to this feature as solution.
Ok, granted it was a while ago, but when i used the plex client on my apple tv it ONLY rewinded when i resumed from a stopped scenario, and not when paused. Also, ive never used the “player experience rewind on resume” in plex before, so when i was using plex on apple tv it most certainly was in a “default” setting (whatever that setting was at the time).
but, i guess that is of less importance now, whatever or however it worked this feature suggestion is still the same, i want the “rewind on resume” function to only be used for “when stopped and resuming” and not from a paused state.
and yes, i was a bit fast to mark that old suggestion as solved before noticing that it also rewinded when paused. hence why im here again.
