Start Recording After Partially Watching Program

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033

I am sure that, in the past, if I was watching a program via an OTA channel and during the program I decided to record it, the recording would include the previous amount of time that I watched plus the remaining time left on the program.

What we are seeing now is that the recordings are only capturing the program from the time we selected to record.

If we are watching a 1/2 hour show and at 15 minutes in we decide to record it, in the past we would have a 1/2 hour recording. Now we end up with a 15 minute program.

I searched the forum, but did not find any other mention of this. Can anyone else confirm this?

Thank you.

Anyone having this same problem?

I don’t think that Plex has ever included cached/previously watched content when you begin a recording as you suggested. I think my TIVO PVR worked that way and there may be software DVRs that do it – I know NextPVR does not have that feature. I think it’s been a requested feature in Plex though.

Bummer. I though it did, but am wrong. I see that when I watch live TV, Plex activity indicates that it is recording live TV. Maybe I only assumed that if someone chooses to record mid way, that Plex would simply rename the live TV recording to the programs name and keep recording until the end.
