Thankfully I’ve only had this issue twice and not on a recent build. For the most part it works flawlessly for me.
My only complaint is that when I’m using live TV remotely, it tends to buffer way too much. My internet connection is plenty fast so that’s not the issue. Any recorded content plays back without a hitch. Just live.
I’m sure as time solders on, it’ll get better for everyone. Keep in mind that this feature is still flagged as beta and that the product is fairly young.
It isn’t Beta anymore. You might be running an older release from when it was. It is a live release now so we should not expect the level of issues being experienced. I only started with it after it was fully released.
People are buying HDHomeruns etc to utilise this feature plus if not already a plex pass subscription so it is not a cheap endeavour.
It would help if Plex offered a proper support route rather than forums, which it seems are rarely patrolled by Plex employees. The lack of response to this issue even a “we know and are working hard to fix” from Plex (not ninja’s) would help but there has seemingly been nothing at all.

fresh install did not work for me
Since multiple devices do not work past 1.6.1, have you tried it with only 1 device? Maybe just the HDHomerun?
nope kind of cuts my leg off as I usually use more than 2 at a time. I could maybe manage with my WinTV but it shows as 2 when its one

I thought the multiple 100% recording bug had already cut off your legs? I thought maybe having 2 tuners that worked would be better than 6 tuners that don’t.

I get where your coming from but people with just hdhomeruns are still having the issues. I about ready to try something else like dvblink or nextpvr with paired with another media server like kodi or media portal or something. I know they work just a pain to set it all up again.

For a while I was using Silicon Dust’s DVR to record, MCEBuddy to transcode and cut commercials, and Plex to serve up the media.

I don’t think there dvr supports WinTV cards or for 5 bucks a month I would of done it

You are correct about SD’s DVR only supporting their devices. I started using SD’s DVR as a kickstarter project for $30. I still have it installed on the same computer as PMS.
I would still keep Plex as the front end because of its client and friends support even if I used some other app to create the media.
here are all my logs I found a free pvr and if it turns out to be stable I will be running my tv shows on it and ill keep running plex and do limited movies for now and downgrade to 1.6.1 unless I’m needed for testing stuff out.
I think they must do something to the TS files behind the scenes. Today I had a file where there was a tiny glitch in the OTA signal near the end of a show and Plex lost the audio after that while Windows Media Center was fine.
I tried importing the Plex file into TS Doctor to see what it would do and it wouldn’t even load the file, getting stuck during the Start/End Check with “First PCR not found!”. I’ve seen that error on nearly every bad Plex file since the v7+ releases when they switched to MKV files then back to TS files.
I too am still getting the stalled records at 100% on a Synology NAS Plex server. Don’t want to switch away from Plex, but starting to seem inevitable.
