I need help to get going with watching live TV OTA with a USB tuner. I have a Nvidia TV shield, PLEX app and a Plex Pass.
I have a USB tuner plugged on the Nvidia shield (it is a USB Tablo Dual TV). Does the USB TV tuner have to be one of those listed on the offcially supported ( ex: Haupage WinTV-dualHD ) ? The USB Tablo tuner that I have works on the Shield in my area.
When I go to te Plex site to configure live tv, it searched for HDhomerun . Why does it look for HDhomerun ? I would like to use the USB tuner already connected on the Nvidia shield.
In the end, I would like to get a step by step instruction to listen and record OTA live tv using PLEX on Nvidia shield and a USB tuner . I know that PLEX does 1000 things but I only want to watch and record live OTA TV ( if another app is required on the Shield – ex HDhomerun – please let me know). What about storage for the TV shows ? I have a 2 TB external disk on the Shield, can I use that ?
