Hi!
My network environment is simple, it includes : 2 Win7 PC, 1 NAS (Synology) with Plex 0.9.7.28, 1 Network Player (Popcornhour) TV. Media files are stored on NAS. I indexed all media files by Plex. And now I can browse and play any file on Network Player.
So I use Plex only for indexing local media files.
I haven't any IOS/Android devices for streaming. I don't need share my media on internet. I don't use Plex channels.
So all works fine! Except annoying Plex activity in idle state. It tries update something, reindex something, send/receive something to/from internet.
First of all it wakes up NAS hdd from hibernation time to time, besides it generates unexpected internet traffic.
Is it possible to disable all activity in idle state ? I agree add any media file to library manually.
I already found some solutions on forum:
1. In settings I disabled all log's (logs was free from errors like 'Couldn't create directory'),
2. switched to manual library update,
3. I also disabled plugins compatibility check
and modified "# Thread.CreateTimer(300, self.auto_update_thread)" string in storeservice.py.
And now my NAS still wakes up every 24h after start...
Could you provide information what else Plex is doing ?
How to stop this activity ?
P.S. I known that Plex is focuses on sharing media via internet. But there are users who do not need it. Such people less, but they are!
There are some old thread about this/similar problem. But there is no answer from developers...
