Is there a way to accomplish this? It’s not a huge deal, but every other app I use will open in the state it was in when closed. I open Plex and it hogs the screen.
Plex Media Player opens up in Window view for me if I closed it in Windowed view (and the same for full-screen). Some things for you to check:
- Check the settings to make sure that the “Layout” setting is set to “Auto” and not “TV”.
- The “Full Screen” option should check and uncheck depending on if you are currently windowed or not, so make sure that it is unchecked.
- Do you have a command-line option set in your icon properties? There is an option to override the startup to always start full-screen (something like “–tv”), so you obviously don’t want that.
- While you’re looking at the icon properties, make sure that the command is for “C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Player\PlexMediaPlayer.exe” and not for the Plex Windows App (from the Windows store).
Very helpful! It turns out that I was using the windows store version. Getting the desktop client fixed. Thanks!
