Store Track Progress / Sweet Fades revisited

I saw on a thread where Elan weighed in that the noted behavior where sweet fades messed with store track progress (storing track progress at the beginning of the fadeout, which makes one have to scan back to the beginning of the track on subsequent listens) shouldn’t be an issue because “Store track progress” wasn’t meant to be used for regular music libraries.

However I have many long DJ mixes in my library that I listen to and return to over a few sessions, and love sweet fades for other use cases.

Does anyone know of a workaround or hack where I can use both, i.e. where track progress is not saved for “sweet fades” tunes? Or if this really bugs me do I need to sequester my DJ mixes into a separate library?

It would be wonderful if an option was available to store track progress for tracks over n minutes.

It was driving me crazy that Plexamp would resume most songs 3 seconds before the end until I found the Store Track Progress option. Similar to sti3 above, now I’m unable to pick up where I left off for longer DJ mixes.
