Server Version#: 1.25.0.5282. Platform: Linux
Player Version#: NA
I’m having a strange intermittent issue with remote access. I have opened 32400 in my firewall and it re-directs to my Plex server. When I am outside the firewall I can navigate to my external IP address at port 32400, and it loads the Plex library without any issue, so the firewall is configured correctly, and is correctly forwarding the port.
At some point in time, my server was showing all good for remote access, and then after I stopped/restarted the server for upgrade to 1.25, it now shows:
“Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network”
Ahem…yes it is!!! I just browsed to exactly that port from outside my network and got my Plex library. Also, if I run through the Plex app, or go to plex.tv, when I try to stream, it tells me I am running an indirect stream, but it still works. So obviously, the Plex site knows how to get my content through my firewall.
I tried disabling/re-enabling remote access, and pushed the “Retry” button several times, no joy.
I do have multiple internal Plex servers running, and I recently switched the external port 32400 in my firewall from one server to the other, not sure if that affects anything; it did work fine when I made the switch (a week or 2 ago)
Maybe my old Plex server is somehow confusing the Plex site; is that possible? any way to diagnose/fix it? I did disable remote access on the old server after I switched the port redirect to the new server, so the old server would not have informed the Plex site.
Thanks
