I would like to stream from my NAS QNAP Plex server to Yamaha RX A4A AVR using the android Plex app as a controller. Yamaha musicast app can find the Plex server as DLNA but app not as good as Plex android app. Is it possible to stream to this AVR using DLNA? I am only using Plex for music.

The Plex Android mobile app cannot control the Yamaha (or any other) DLNA client.
The Plex Android mobile app can control other Plex clients (FireSticks, SmartTVs, etc).
You need a Plex client connected to the AVR.
You can then use the Plex Mobile app on your phone to control what is played by the Plex client connected to the AVR.
