Since around mid-August, I’ve been consistently having trouble playing back audio content that has been synchronized to my Android clients. I typically will browse the music library, then click the shuffle button to shuffle and playback all my music. I don’t know yet what version caused this issue yet but what I do know is I wind up with a “Streaming Session Doesn’t exist” about 1 or 2 seconds after the first track is played. I’ve searched and found others with this error but nothing solid as to what to do to fix it. At this time, the only way I can make the music play is by either removing the synchronized content, or by disabling the “Prefer synced content” option in Advanced settings on the clients (all Androids). At this point I’m inclined to think it’s a client problem with the Android app. I normally use an Nvidia Shield Android TV for my media server. I have tried installing PMS on my Windows PC and can also reproduce the same problem. Does anyone have any ideas?
Plex needs to fix this asap. As paying customer I am pretty frustrated that synced content is not working on Android.
After a bunch of problems with this and getting frustrated, I just began synchronizing my music to my SD storage and using VLC on Android. I had been chewing through a bunch of data and got fed up with it. Nobody I’ve seen posting this error came up with a fix yet and I’m not even sure how to get someone’s attention about this problem. I can reproduce it on multiple Androids and both Shield TV and Windows Plex Servers. Since Plex has no real support channel I’ve pretty much given up on hopes that someone at Plex will see this and comment.
