So I have PMS installed on a DS918+ and I have a Plex-Pass subscription.
What I am wondering is:
1.) If I invite my roommate into my server, in order to stream on his iPad or iPhone does his account have to unlock the ability by paying the $4.99 or does being on my server allow them to play on iOS without unlocking?
2.) Is that the same for Android?
3.) Is that $4.99 per account or per device.
I did give them access to my server and it brings up a message on there iPhone and iPad that they are limited to 1 minute play time and that they need to pay $4.99 to unlock the stream feature. But my server is on a plex-pass account. It says so in the settings.
What do you mean by giving access to your server? Did you only share a library with him or did you invite him in your plex home?
oooooooh…Ya I invited them to my libraries. They are not listed under “Homer Users”, they’re listed under “Friends”.
So are you saying that I need to add them to the “Home User” section?

Keep in mind that literally means you’re adding them to “your (digital/Plex) home”.
If you’re not comfortable with that… the 4.99$ are linked to the user’s app-store account (e.g. Apple ID in Apple’s App Store, Google Account in Google’s Play Store…). The activation will work for all devices linked to that particular app store account.
