I’ve been using Plex Media Server on my gaming PC for a while now.
I started using it in my old apartment while being connected to LAN cable on my TV and on my PC and it worked great without any issues or any hassle.
I moved to a new apartment and now it seems like the videos I try to watch is always on indirect and transcoded.
I’m connected to LAN cable in this apartment too; in both cases, old and new apartment, I’m connected to a 1000/100Mbps Fiber connection.
I tried to delete the server and start all over again but it didn’t work.
Is there any solution?
I appreciate any help you can provide.
If you moved your Windows server machine to a new local network, Windows has automatically set the network connection to “public”.
You need to set it back to “private”, so that clients in your local network can talk to your server directly.
Best reboot the server after changing this setting.
