Unable to Direct Play

Hi I realise this might be a wild goose chase, but can anyone advise me how to reactivate direct play? I recently moved my drive with all the films on it to another computer and after much faffing about trying to get the Plex server to see the drive I now notice that everything is transcoded to SD. I’ve chanegd the settings, it’s on a LAN not a WAN, it worked fine before, but now it staunchly refuses to play direct at original quality. If only there was more details about why it’s not playing. Everything is the same, the computer it’s attached to now is right next to the previous one where it worked. The only difference is the original machine was a Mac and the new one is a PC. Any help anyone can give will be much appreciated.

Oh it works if I view Plex locally using 127.0.0.1:32400 but not on app.plex.tv/desktop

Check the Windows 10 network interface.
It must be configured as a private, not public, network.
Win10: Settings → Network & Internet. Select Properties if you need to change it.

Monitor playback via Plex Dashboard → Now Playing + Expanded View.
Is the connection local, remote, or indirect? If one of the latter two, then you’ve local networking problems to sort out.

Separately, consider using Plex Desktop instead of Plex Web. It is a more robust Plex client, direct playing most video and audio formats.
