Stupid Questions - How to I control RasPlex?

Just booted up after waiting to effing weeks for a power supply. Got the wizard, how do I control it? It has a wi-fi dongle and I can plug it into ethernet if need be.

Thanks!

There's a few ways to go about it.

- The official Plex app on iPhone/Android. I use this to start playback simply because it's a lot faster at navigating.

- A keyboard of some sort. I also have a Logitech K400 in my lounge that does a great job.

- Media remotes, I haven't played around with this yet but there seems to be a few different models around now that work well.

There are other ways too, but I haven't tried them nor will I likely in the future. Feel free to add anything else, guys!

So it appeared in PlexApp when on ethernet.

Problem is now its hanging on playing anything with no option but to unplug the power. The on a reboot it won't mount the card.

Any ideas?

I believe the Windows Phone app should also work. Just saying.

The xmbc-app for Iphone works well

I don't know why but I am able to control Rasplex with my TV controller...

That would be the CEC protocol controlling the RPi through the HDMI interface.
This can be useful but is limited to what your TV remote can do, and also dependent on its CEC compatibility.

To me it sounds as if mazma75 has major configuration issues which need to be resolved before playback will work, and for such reconfiguration the best way to do it is to use a normal USB keyboard, just as when configuring PHT on a full-scale computer. (For those who weren't aware, RasPlex is an offshoot of the PHT project, and requires all the same configuration entries.)

In addition to the usual PHT configuration you should also add your CODEC license codes, assuming you bought some for your RPi. Those codes should be edited into the "config.txt" file on the boot partition of the SD card. I'm not sure if the codes can also be entered through the PHT GUI of RasPlex (and I can't check it now as my RPi is out on loan to my brother), but editing the config.txt file worked fine for me. (Edit it on a PC, as that's much easier than using software on the RPi to do it.)
