Stuttering and pixelating after few seconds of playback

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2843
Player Version#:8.0.2.17816
I am having issues with stuttering and pixelation just seconds after playing the video. This happens with older tv shows that are only 480p and sometimes with 1080p. I have tried disabling direct stream and direct play. Not sure how to read the logs so if someone here is gracious enough to help me, i would greatly appreciate it. I am using the amazon fire cube 1st gen. I am running a i5 3.20ghz processor and 16gb of ram.

I started having the same issue today. Windows server version 1.19.3.2843. Happens in the IOs app and the roku app. I enabled the skip intro option yesterday, not sure if that’s related. Both direct play and transcoded videos. It happens maybe 50% of the time. Once I start the video for a second time, it plays fine.

May I ask why? If a client can deal with the original media – why would you want to force it to be transcoded?!

The logs show some error messages about Plex failing to load the CUDA drivers to transcode the streams using the graphics card. Maybe worth a short to check if there’s a newer driver. That being said… it seems like Plex is transcoding this ok using the embedded graphics chip on your CPU using Intel’s HW accelerated streaming.
You could also try to disable HW transcoding to test if the CPU is providing a particularly poor transcoding quality for that type of video.

PS:
There seem to be also some issues with Plex not recognizing your router’s public IP (which could have an impact if you experience this pixelation in a remote playback situation.

Well, everywhere I looked, people were saying to try to encode so I did. I’m not using my pc graphics card, I’m using my Phillips smart tv and also tried my LG TV and to no avail I have the same results. I’m not sure as how to go about setting most of the settings on this though. If you are someone can guide me that would be most appreciated and Thank you for replying and helping me out. Oh and my internet speed is 1000mbps.
