On Wednesday nights I record “Peston” - 23:05 on STV HD. It’s on at 22:45 on ITV HD, however on STV HD there is a programme “Scotland Tonight” that preceeds it every week from 22:40 - 23:05.
This programme is missing from your guide and therefore does not record Peston in the right slot. You can see this next Wednesday night as well. The subsequent programmes are wrong as well, ITV nightscreen starts in Scotland at 01:00.
Having a quick look through the guide tells me that these are not the only errors in the STV/STV HD listings.
I’ve made a few comments regarding the problems I have had with Plex since I started using it a few weeks ago - not one reply from a Plex representative.
This DVR service is one I have paid for and I EXPECT it to function correctly as a DVR, never mind all the rest of the issues I have raised.
STILL has the wrong info. For a programme that is on at the same time every week.
What a joke. What EXACTLY am I paying for here? Certainly not to mess around putting 20 minute delays into recordings I just happen to notice are on at the wrong time.
Anyone reading this thinking of paying for this kind of service, I’d advise you look again!
Clearly I am whistling in the wind here, but is this ever going to get fixed?
How hard is it to get the right EPG data? Surely this is a fundamental BASIC when you profess to provide a DVR service?
Two weeks ago I filed the report and this error is not anywhere to be seen on your “public facing spreadsheet”.
Do I just keep spamming the report page every Wednesday night when I want this programme to record at the right time?
Not to mention all the other inaccuracies during the rest of the week after News at Ten. Example - tonight/tomorrow 00:10 to 01:00 - “Bang on the Money” - the guide shows the network ITV listing of “Back to Mine” followed by others not showing in the STV region.
Surely OTA data would be the way to go - also over on the other thread
I mention about using the excellent “Digiguide” - someone suggested partnering with them in some way - the debate was listed on BBC1 two weeks ago on Digiguide yet for whatever reason Plex couldn’t manage to have this well publicised in advance broadcast updated in the guide - also affecting BBC2 programmes as the missus found out when trying to watch her Strictly spin off.
There’s so many other problems it is unfathomable how they have the cheek to launch new features without fixing THE most basic of operations first!
Well, nobody from Plex obviously cares about making their service work properly so I can only hope that this constant stream of ineptitude puts at least one person off from wasting their cash on such a pisspoor service…
I am sorry that your post did not get picked up. There is a backlog on the feedback via the forms - but escalation in the forum is the right thing to do. I have been active in the forum thread you linked to 28 days ago in your post here STV HD wrong guide information - #10 by meherenow - You could have given me a nudge there
It is now too late to look into Peston as it does not appear to be airing at the moment.
I have compared entries in our EPG for channel 103 STV HD that are after the 22:00 news against what is on this web page STV TV Guide | STV Player
I can only see mismatches for airings after midnight - these are ones I identified for period between today and 28 December (the last day on the stv web page)
Well it’s wrong every night from tonight - starting after the news at 10 - STV is a 10 minute progamme and is followed by “Scotland Tonight” as usual.
The guide then deviates further from ITV HD programming. It’s a lazy cop out your guide provider seems to just follow by slapping on “STV News” into what I assume is a regional optout and then assuming the rest of the schedule is the main ITV HD one.
STV HD is MORE than just your average ITV HD regional optout.
After seeing the blasé approach from your co-founder on the other thread ( https://forums.plex.tv/t/new-plex-guide-very-poor-in-uk/ ) I’m not holding out much hope anyway - time to start thinking about packing my bags, and warning as many others as possible not to waste their money on a DVR service that is nowhere near fit for purpose.
Thank you, I can see that the duration for the 22:30 STV News is wrong in the EPG and also what follows it. I have asked our provider to look again and make sure they get the right data
