Subs disappear half way trough

First i wanted to thank everyone involved in plexconnect, great solution to the lack of support that ATV3 offers, i bought it out of ignorance and this was my solution.

And now to my problem: my library is mainly MKV (720p) and since english is not my native tongue i use subtitles quite alot, the thing is, while im playing any video the subs show up the first 10, 20 minutes and then they just dissapear, i checked the subs in my PC via VLC and they're ok. Any thoughts on this?

Second thing, with anime, the subs simply do not show up, im assuming it is because they are mainly hardcoded subs.

So any solution to subs disappearing halfway through the video and hardcoded subs not showing up?

Thanks!

for the what i assume are SRTs them randomly stopping can be cause by them being made incorrectly with a space after time stamp before text at the point they stop

Have a look for known issues. Check if they fit to your anime experience.

What BigWheel says is correct... also make sure there's no extra line between lines or it will be cutoff...

Incorrect (note extra space between 62 and 63)

Thanks for the quick replies, as for the post #2 & #4,

is there any software (windows) that i can use so i do not have to check that everytime?.

Well... when I notice that subtitles stop appearing then I stop the video and open the .srt in a text editor go to the part where it stopped and clean it up...  then go back to watching... :)

Hi Escobar090,

I had the same issue. For me it was a blank line in the .srt file You can solve this manually or by downloading Subtitle Edit (http://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit/)

In that program you can load one subtitle (or multiple) and then do a "Fix Common Errors".

This removes blanks, as well as other well know errors. I've made this procedure part of my download / getting videos ready for plex process, and haven't had any problems since with subs.

Thankyou very much FreakNL!
